About this Course
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to shell programming using the KornShell (ksh) and BASH shell (bash). A shell is a command-interpreting language used in UNIX, Linux, and Mac OS/X. KornShell and Bash are the most powerful of the many available shells.
Of the other UNIX/Linux shells, KornShell and BASH are closely related. The Bourne shell (sh) represents a subset of the KornShell. The KornShell is POSIX- and SUS- compliant.
